The 3 Bays Marine Park in northern Haiti that was formed after an ecological assessment of the area by Yon Sel Lanmou and FoProBiM needs education and enforcement to succeed. We witnessed illegal harvesting of mangroves for charcoal in early January, and three days after we left the area, fishermen killed a humpback whale that entered the MPA.
