Yon Sel Lanmou Announces One Million Trees 4 Haiti Fundraiser!

One Million Trees 4 Haiti, a collaborative project, is having a family-friendly community event Friday May 12, 5:30-11pm at Advanced Wellness Partners. This fun-packed evening is hosted by National Champion slam poet Theo Wilson . Original live music by Las Tres,
Wild Faith , Felix Fast4Ward , and (all the way from Haiti) award-winning song-writer and humanitarian Mona Augustin . Mona will also tell first-hand stories about his efforts to build Vilaj Mozayik , a community for families that were displaced by the 2010 earthquake. Greg Cronin, Applied Ecologist at CU Denver and President of Yon Sel Lanmou, will recount his efforts to restore and protect Haiti’s ecosystems, including current plans to establish edible forests at Vilaj Mozayik and beyond. Stephen Jefferson, a student of Dr. Cronin’s, will share his work with Maison Fortune , including efforts to establish a community garden in Hinche, Haiti, near Vilaj Mozayik. There will also be a cash donation bar and delicious Caribbean cuisine provided by Khary’s Catering featuring creations made by Chef Shabasa Sayers. We will also be featuring beautiful art and releasing Mona Augustine’s newest CD “ This Love is Blessed ”. Admission is a $5-$25 sliding scale donation.

One Million Trees 4 Haiti is a collaborative project of Yon Sel Lanmou, Vilaj Mozayik, and the Rocky Mountain Permaculture Institute. The project focuses on creating edible forests, restoring ecosystem services, planting indigenous crops, stabilizing soils, farming carbon, and two-way sharing of environmental education!
